Kemptville Leads Navan 3-1 in CCHL Quarter-Final Series

Kemptville – The Kemptville 73s now lead their CCHL Quarter-Final Series with the Navan Grads three games to one.

In game four on Tuesday night the 73s won a 4-3 decision in overtime over the Grads at the Navan Memorial Centre. In game three on Sunday, Kemptville was blanked by Navan 3-0.

The Kemptville 73’s erased an early deficit and earned a 4–3 double-overtime win over the Navan Grads on Tuesday night at the Navan Memorial Centre.

Navan jumped out to a 3–1 first-period lead, but Kemptville responded with power-play goals from Kulas and captain McDougall.

After a scoreless second, Henderson tied the game in the third to force overtime. Following a scoreless first extra frame, McDougall netted the winner in double OT.

Both teams traded chances throughout, with Kemptville narrowly outshooting Navan 53–50. With the victory, the 73’s take a 3-1 series lead.

The Navan Grads earned a bounce-back performance with a 3–0 shutout over the Kemptville 73’s Sunday at Navan Memorial Centre.

After a scoreless opening period, Kaufman broke the deadlock midway through the second before Paris doubled the lead late in the frame.

Paris added an empty-net goal to seal it in the third.

Flemming was stellar between the pipes, turning aside all 36 shots for the shutout, while Donovan made 27 saves on 29 shots in a solid effort for Kemptville.

Game five is back in Kemptville on Friday night. The puck drops at 7:30 pm at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.
