
Lombardy – A driver is facing several charges after being involved in a collision on Highway 15 at Briton-Houghton Bay Road.
On Thursday, April 2, 2026, shortly after 5:00 a.m., members of the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving two vehicles. Four occupants were involved, two of which sustained non-life-threatening injuries. One individual was transported to a regional trauma centre for treatment.
As a result of the investigation, 31-year-old JEROD BENOIT of Lombardy has been charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired – causing bodily harm
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration
- Dangerous operation
- Obstruct peace officer
- Failure to comply with release order
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on May 15, 2026. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.
