
Gananoque – One person is facing charges after a drug investigation in Leeds County and Gananoque.
In early 2026, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) began an investigation into suspected drug trafficking in the Leeds County and Gananoque area.
On Thursday, April 9, 2026, as a result of the investigation, CSCU executed search warrants at a residence on North Street in Gananoque and on a related vehicle, with assistance from the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), and the Gananoque Police Service.
Officers seized a replica handgun, .22 calibre rifle, and almost 50 grams of suspected cocaine. They also seized cash, as well as items typically associated with drug trafficking.
Jonathan JOMPHE-BRUNET, 39 years old, of Gananoque is charged with:
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
- Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
The accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing
