Canada Day Signs Return to Brockville — Expanding Across Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec

Sales are set to begin this week, just ahead of the Victoria Day long weekend!

Brockville — Building on the overwhelming success of last year’s initiative, the Canada Day Sign Project is returning for 2026 with an even broader vision—inviting communities across Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec to proudly display their Canadian spirit.

Originally inspired in 2025 by Rotarian Jacquie Pepper-Journal, the project was created to give Brockville residents a simple, visible way to celebrate their pride in being Canadian. While modest fundraising was a consideration, the heart of the initiative has always been about community spirit and national pride.

With the support of Jason Baker and the team at Ketchum Manufacturing, two styles of Canada Day signs were developed and made available to the community. The initial goal was to produce and sell 500 signs throughout June 2025. Instead, the project exceeded all expectations, with more than 2,200 signs distributed across Brockville and the surrounding area.

“This project was never just about the numbers,” said Pepper-Journal. “It was about creating a shared expression of pride—something visible, positive, and unifying for our community.”

2026 Campaign Details:

Canada Day Pride signs will be available for purchase at $15.00 each, including an “H”-style lawn sign holder suitable for lawns, balconies, and other display areas.

Sales will begin the week of May 11, just ahead of the Victoria Day long weekend.

Signs will be available at multiple locations throughout Brockville, including the local Farmers’ Market, the Re-Store, Home Hardware, and Ketchum Manufacturing, with additional locations to be announced.

Sales will run from mid-May through the end of June in the lead-up to Canada Day.

In an exciting development for 2026, Rotary Clubs across Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec have been invited to participate in the initiative, helping to expand the reach and impact of the campaign. Recruitment of participating clubs is currently underway.

The goal for this year is ambitious: to see Canada Day signs displayed on as many lawns, balconies, and community spaces as possible—creating a visible wave of national pride across the region.

Residents are encouraged to take part, show their colours, and help celebrate what it means to be Canadian
