Brockville – A strike could be held as early as Monday, May 25th for over 300 health and social service workers at Lanark, Leeds and Grenville Addictions and Mental Health, Children’s Mental Health of Leeds and Grenville (CMHLG), and Brockville and Area Community Living Association (BACLA).
Members of OPSEU Local 441 had voted for strike action back in April if talks broke down. The union is warning the Ontario government to address funding shortages and wage concerns.
The union filed for a “no-board” report, which initiated the countdown to job action. Bargaining teams stated they are waiting for the employers to reach out with substantial offers.
The union workers will be in a legal position to strike as early as Monday, May 25 at 12:01 am, if last-minute negotiations fail.
