Legal strike by OPSEU Local 441 members impacts Lanark Leeds and Grenville Addictions Mental Health services

Brockville – Today, OPSEU Local 441 members initiated a legal strike, walking off the job at Lanark Leeds and Grenville Addictions and Mental Health (LLGAMH) at 12:01 am after not reaching a renewal collective agreement.

Through the labour negotiation process, LLGAMH offered its employees wage enhancements above inflation. The Union has rejected all of LLGAMH’s offers and commenced a strike.

During the strike action, LLGAMH will continue operating high-priority services for its most vulnerable clients and pause non-critical client services for the time being. While LLGAMH does not have a legislated essential services designation, the leadership team has identified the services necessary to protect clients’ health, safety, and well-being, and for which even a temporary disruption would put clients at risk. Services will continue for clients from group homes, treatment homes, the HART Hub. Certain psychiatry and psychotherapy supports will also be offered.

Effective immediately, LLGAMH has paused all other client services for the time being. This includes:

  • General Case Management
  • General Psychotherapy
  • Drop-In Centre
  • Social Recreation Program
  • Vocational Program
  • Family Support Program
  • Housing Program
  • Administrative Support

The LLGAMH team has reached out to affected clients and continues to work closely with community partners to reduce the impact on clients.

Recognizing that the Union’s actions have an impact on client care, LLGAMH provided clients with information about its triage line for urgent concerns. If a client or a community member is experiencing a crisis, please call the Crisis Line at 9-8-8 or the Emergency Service at 9-1-1.

At this time, the strike action will not affect the HART Hub construction at the Leeds Grenville site. The project continues to progress as scheduled, with an opening in summer of 2026.
