Prescott – Prescott Ribfest returns beginning this Friday May 29 and running until Sunday, May 31, on the Fort Wellington grounds, bringing residents and visitors together for one of the region’s signature kickoff-to-summer celebrations.
The smell of award-winning barbecue, live entertainment, family fun, and community spirit will once again fill the waterfront of the Fort Town.
Proceeds from the event support the local Boys and Girls Club (BGC South East), helping fund prevention-based programs and critical supports for children and youth in Leeds & Grenville.
Funds raised through Ribfest directly support programs designed for youth ages 8-16, an important stage of development where access to safe spaces, mentorship, recreation, social connection, leadership opportunities, and skill-building can have a lasting impact.
“As the need for accessible youth programming continues to grow, community events like Prescott Ribfest play an increasingly important role in ensuring young people have the support and opportunities they need to thrive,” says Bev Heuving, Director of Programs & Evaluation at BGC South East. “When people come out to enjoy Prescott Ribfest, they’re not only experiencing a fantastic weekend of family fun; they can feel good in helping strengthen supports for local youth.”
This year’s ribbers are Ribs Royal BBQ and Dinosaur Smokehouse, along with food trucks and festival favourites.
There will also be a family-focused Kid Zone featuring inflatables, face painting, and a petting zoo, a 3M STEM & Robotics Area offering hands-on learning experiences for children and youth, a Vendor Village showcasing local artisans and small businesses, a beverage garden and more.
