Augusta Township – The Ministry of Natural Resources, through the Canadian Wildland Fire Information System, has currently rated the fire danger in Eastern Ontario as HIGH to EXTREME.
At this time, Augusta Fire Rescue is not implementing a burn ban, as significant rainfall is forecast for this weekend. However, residents are strongly encouraged to avoid open burning unless absolutely necessary and to strictly follow all conditions of their burn permit.
Please exercise caution, as dry conditions can allow fires to spread quickly and unpredictably.
Should the anticipated rainfall not materialize or conditions continue to deteriorate, burn restrictions may be implemented.
We will continue to monitor conditions closely and provide updates as required.
