
Brockville – Brockville Police responded to a report of a robbery in the area of King Street East and Oxford Avenue on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
Police said that initial information indicated that a male victim had been sprayed with bear spray. The investigation determined that the victim had been confronted by two adult males, aged 43 and 48 years-of-age.
According to police, the suspects sprayed the victim with bear spray and stole several personal belongings, along with a quantity of cash. The two suspects then fled the area.
Police also stated that the victim and suspects knew one another, they were not strangers and this is not a random attack.
Officers located the suspects at a residence on George Street and contained the residence, making efforts to communicate with the individuals inside.
Shortly thereafter, both suspects were taken into custody without incident and were cooperative with officers. They were charged with robbery and both were held in custody for a bail hearing. The 48-year-old male was additionally charged with failing to comply with probation.
Police said the victim received medical treatment for injuries described as non-life-threatening.
