
Brockville – Environment Canada has issued a YELLOW – Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Brockville, Prescott-South Grenville, North Grenville-Kemptville, Merrickville, Charleston Lake-Westport and Morrisburg for this afternoon.
At 2:48 PM EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain.
Thunderstorm Location:
- Elgin
- North Augusta
- Morrisburg
Motion – Moving east at 25 km/h
Hazards:
- Wind gusts up to 90 km/h
- Rainfall up to 50 mm
Locations in the Path:
- Williamsburg
- Spencerville
- Athens
- Lyndhurst
- Iroquois
- Prescott
Local utility outages are likely. Damage to roofs, fences, soft shelters or trees is likely. Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility.
When thunder roars, go indoors! Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Don’t drive through flooded roadways.
