
Brockville – The Brockville Bunnies had another successful weekend, winning three of their four games to get their overall record up to 15 wins with 10 losses and back to .500 in Can-Am league play at 8-8.
Saturday Game 1 – Bunnies 7 – Reds Academy16u 6:
Bunnies fell behind 6-0 early in the game but scored 3 in the fifth inning and 4 in the sixth for comeback win.
Charlie Todd struggled with command which doesn’t happen often giving up 5 runs (3 earned) over 2 innings. Rookie Taylor Brayton has his best outing of the summer going 5 innings and giving up 3 hits and 1 earned run to get the win only facing 19 hitters.
Mark Bowlby doubled, with singles by Parker Ames (2 RBIs), Matt Barkley (1 RBI) and Roiger (1 RBI).
Saturday Game 2 – Reds 7 – Bunnies 5:
The Bunnies held a 3-1 lead after 3 innings but give up 6 runs over the last four innings and couldn’t get it back. Bunnies scored 2 in the seventh to make it interesting.
JJ Easton got the loss going 5 innings and giving up 4 earned runs with 4 k’s. Nick Beach finished up giving up 4 hits and 2 earned runs. Todd (S, D, 1 RBI) and Ames with 2 hits each. Barkley (1 RBI), Bowlby and Lukus Doak singled.

Sunday Game 1 Bunnies 10 – Diamonds16u 7:
Aaron Roy got the win going with a shaky 5 innings giving up 10 hits with 9 k’s (got the outs when needed). Eamon Morrison went 1.2 innings giving up 3 earned runs (stuff plays just needs to learn how to put hitters away).
Barkley with the save, offensively games big blow was a Barkley 2-run homer with the game tied at 4-4 in the sixth and Bunnies didn`t look back.
Barkley (s, d, hr, 3 RBIs) and Roiger with 3 hits each. Bowlby and Doak with 2 hits each and Ames (2 RBIs) and Todd (1 RBI) both doubled.
Sunday Game 2 – Bunnies 7 – Diamonds 3:
Roiger got the complete game win giving up 7 hits, 3 earned runs with 4 k’s (even more impressive as had to fill in for starting shortstop Wyatt Last the first three games of the weekend).
The Bunnies manufactured 7 runs on 4 hits, 7 walks and 6 stolen bases and some well placed bunts. Roiger (2 RBIs), Ames, Roy and Nolan Orazietti all singled.
Barkley and Burns enjoyed the game from the bleachers after the 3rd inning. A couple of highlights on the day were Morrison throwing a dart to home from left field nabbing a runner from scoring and big fella Ames swiping his first stolen base with ease.
The Brockville Bunnies travel to Montreal this weekend to take on the Diamonds19u on Saturday and the Montreal Titans on Sunday.
