Another City of Brockville Councillor Candidate, Jill Duffin

Brockville – Another candidate for Brockville City Council has announced their candidacy for the October municipal election.

Jill Duffin registered for a spot on council on Thursday, July 30th. She posted on her Facebook profile.

Hello Brockville, my name is Jill Duffin and after much consideration I am proud to announce that I am running for Brockville City Council.

Despite what people might have you believe, Brockville is not only a retirement community. I moved here from Petawawa in 2022 to restart my life, not retire. This is a fully rounded diverse city with an economy supported by a lot of young, working people who call this place home.

Like many of you I am a working parent with young children. As parents, we care about the present and future of this city because our families depend on Brockville and I think that we deserve a bigger voice in our local government. I have served many of you already, previously working at a small business and for the Public Library Board. Prior to becoming a parent I worked directly with small businesses from the ground up and eventually worked for a wholesale distributor in Ottawa.

I love this city, with its spectacular river views and active downtown, but what I like best about living here is the small town feel of our community. Here, what I have experienced is a sense of community I haven’t felt before. Every time I’m at the park, the farmer’s market or walking I am greeted warmly by my friends, coworkers, and neighbours. These are the people who I want to make sure Brockville remains affordable and accessible to.

This election is a time for new voices to be heard. I humbly ask you to allow me to work for you as your Councillor. If you want Brockville to be a place where families can work, learn and thrive then let me represent our shared interests within a city council. When I say that we deserve a bigger voice I genuinely mean my voice AND YOURS.

As I begin campaigning and sharing my views I would love to hear from you. I do not intend to perform this role in isolation, I want to truly represent you this election. A vote for me is a vote for families, workers, small businesses and for the present and future of the city of Brockville.

Duffin joins Randy Chase, Chris Culhane, Ida Duc, Ian Roberts, Jeremy Newman, Bianca Timmerman and current councillor Louise Severson who have officially register for a spot on city council as of Friday, July 31, 2026.

The municipal elections in Ontario take place on Monday, October 26, 2026.
