
Gananoque – In the early morning hours of December 29, 2024, at approximately 2:45am, the Gananoque Police Service and Gananoque Fire Service responded to a report of a fire in a yard beside a residence. An investigation determined that the fire was intentionally set using homemade incendiary devices, resulting in property damage.
On December 30th, 2024 in the early morning hours, a 28-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Possession incendiary material and Arson – damage to property. They were held in custody for a show cause bail hearing.
On July 8th, 2026 the now 30-year-old was convicted of Possession Incendiary Material and Arson – Damage to Property. They were sentenced to a two-year conditional sentence order followed by a three-year probation term which included a weapons prohibition. They were also ordered to pay $8115.36 in restitution.
