
Brockville – On August 13, 2026, at approximately 11:15am, police received information regarding a man reportedly in possession of and brandishing a firearm in the area of the John Howard Society on Stewart Boulevard.
Officers responded immediately and quickly located a 52-year-old, man matching the suspect’s description. The individual was taken into custody without incident.
Following the arrest, officers conducted a search and located a replica Glock-style BB gun, along with a quantity of a substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine.
As a result of the investigation, the accused was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of a substance for the purpose of trafficking. The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Police would like to remind the public that replica firearms can be difficult to distinguish from real firearms and can pose significant risks to public safety as well as responding officers.
