Traffic Stop Leads to Drug and Weapon Seizure

Brockville – On September 2, 2026, at approximately 3:15pm, officers with the Brockville Police Service initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated by a 57-year-old male from Cornwall.

The driver failed to immediately stop for police and continued travelling at a slow rate of speed before eventually being safely stopped by officers.

The male was arrested for failing to stop for police. During a search incident to arrest, officers located brass knuckles, a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, and a quantity of Canadian currency.

The vehicle was towed from the scene, and the accused was transported to the Brockville Police Service headquarters for further investigation.

As a result of the investigation, the 57-year-old, male was charged with:

• · Driving While Disqualified
• · Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• · Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
• · Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
• · Driving While Under Suspension
• · Driving Without a Currently Validated Permit

The Canadian currency located during the investigation was seized as evidence. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled for a future date.
