Brockville Police Service Successfully Responds to Multiple High-Priority Incidents Within Minutes

Brockville – The Brockville Police Service successfully responded to multiple high-priority incidents within minutes recently.

The evening of September 21, 2026, provided a clear example of the diverse and demanding nature of policing in our community. Throughout the day, officers responded to multiple other high-priority incidents; however, at approximately 7:00pm, within a 30 minute timeframe, members of the Brockville Police Service responded to and safely resolved several unrelated incidents, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and a steadfast commitment to public safety.

Intimate Partner Violence Investigation Leads to Arrests and Recovery of Stolen Property

At approximately 7:00 p.m., officers were investigating an intimate partner violence matter involving a 29-year-old female and a 46-year-old male who were allegedly communicating contrary to court-ordered conditions. Both individuals were subject to probation and undertaking conditions prohibiting contact due to significant safety concerns.

When officers attempted to engage with the pair, both fled, one on foot and the other on a bicycle. Additional officers responded to assist, resulting in a brief foot pursuit. Both individuals were safely taken into custody without injury.

During the investigation, officers also recovered a bicycle valued at more than $2,000 that had previously been reported stolen. The bicycle was successfully returned to its rightful owner.

The female was charged with Fail to Comply with Probation, Fail to Comply with an Undertaking, and Resist Arrest. The male was charged with Fail to Comply with Probation and Resist Arrest. Both individuals were held pending a bail hearing.

Officers Locate Missing Child and Reunite Her with Family

While members were actively engaged in the above investigation, police received a report of a missing 9-year-old autistic child who had left her mother’s care in the area of Park Street and Central Avenue.

Despite resources already committed to the previous incident, officers quickly coordinated a response and began searching the area. The child was located safely on North Augusta Road and was reunited with her mother shortly thereafter.

Youth Safely Taken into Custody Following Weapons Complaint

Shortly afterward, police received a report of a male youth swinging a machete at the skateboard park near the Memorial Centre while other people were present.

Officers responded immediately and located the youth, who was still in possession of the weapon. The youth, who is known to struggle with mental health challenges, was taken into custody without injury to the public, officers, or the youth himself.

Following assessment, the youth was released to a guardian on conditions and charged with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. He is scheduled to appear in court at a future date.

While these incidents may individually appear routine within the scope of modern policing, the fact that all were brought to safe and successful resolutions within such a short timeframe highlights the dedication and professionalism of Brockville Police Service members.
