Victim Named by OPP, Murder Charge Laid in Augusta Township Death

Augusta – The Grenville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have named the victim of a July homicide in Augusta Township as well as announcing six charges against the suspect from the same community.

OPP say that on July 10th, officers had found a person’s body at a home on County Road 26 in Augusta Township two days earlier. Police later said they were investigating the death as a homicide.

On Wednesday, September 23rd, OPP said 50-year-old David Collision of Augusta Township is accused of killing 79-year-old Donna Lowry from the same community.

The suspect is facing six charges:

• Second-degree murder.
• Indignity to a dead body.
• Assault with a weapon.
• Assault causing bodily harm.
• Forcible confinement.
• Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a probation order.

As part of the same investigation, OPP last week charged a 40-year-old from Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township with indignity to a dead body.

The Grenville County OPP Crime Unit is investigating with the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
