Brockville – The 22nd annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Run & Ride to Remember made its annual stop in Brockville on Friday evening.
It was the end of day 2 of the run/ride when they arrived in Brockville. The cyclists arrived a half an hour before the runners, which arrived around 5:30pm. A brief ceremony was held on Courthouse Green welcoming the runners to Brockville.

Close to 300 runners and 185 cyclists representing police services across Canada were on a three-day, 460km (Runners) & 700km (Cyclists) journey from Toronto to Ottawa, honouring the brave men and women who gave their lives in the line of duty.
The memorial run is a lead up to the National Peace Officers’ Memorial Ceremony that was held on Parliament Hill this past Sunday.
Members of SOLE – Survivors of Law Enforcement – joined the runners along the route, remembering and celebrating their loved ones.
The National Peace Officers’ Memorial Run was established in 2005 when the Peel Regional Police running team, The Pacers, decided to raise awareness of the annual Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial Service held annually on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
The running team wanted to create a way of raising awareness of the annual service and at the same time pay tribute to those officers who had so valiantly given their lives in service of their Community and Country.
