VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS: Braves Lost 8-5 to Pembroke on Sunday

Pembroke – The Pembroke Royals erupted for five goals in the third period to pull away from the Brockville Braves and earn an 8-5 victory on Sunday night at the Pembroke Memorial Centre.

Bourne opened the scoring for Pembroke at 9:19 of the first period before Fergusson tied the game for Brockville late in the frame.

Both teams traded goals throughout the second; Delage and Aben scored for the Royals, while Visser, Colson and Boudet answered for Brockville, with Boudet’s power-play goal giving the Braves a 5-3 lead after 40 minutes.

Pembroke then took control in the third, scoring four times in the opening 4:17. Lobo scored twice on the power play and Kettles added another to put the Royals ahead 6-5.

Boudet would score his second of the night for Brockville at 6:21, but Aben and Bourne responded to restore Pembroke’s three-goal advantage.

Pembroke outshot Brockville 37-31. Ferguson made 26 saves on 31 shots for the Royals, while Connors stopped 29 of 37 for Brockville.

The Braves will face the Cornwall Colts this Saturday in Nepean during the CCHL Showcase this weekend. The puck drops at 1:00pm.
