VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS: Braves Drop Showcase Opener 5-2 to Cornwall on Saturday

Nepean – The 2026 CCHL Showcase started off on the wrong foot for the Braves as they dropped, a closer than the score indicated, game to the Cornwall Colts, 5 – 2 on Saturday in Nepean.

Cornwall took a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals from Doxtator and Lamarche. McKinnon added a power-play goal in the second to make it 3-0 before Karpachov put Brockville on the board late in the period.

Regan scored on the power play early in the third to bring the Braves within one, but Charbonneau restored Cornwall’s two-goal lead. Walker added an empty-net goal late in the period to seal the victory.

Cornwall outshot Brockville 42-35. Rivard made 33 saves for the Colts, while Hedman stopped 37 shots for the Braves.
