Prescott – The 72nd Annual Light Up the Night Christmas Parade is being held this Friday night, November 21st, in Prescott, hosted by the Prescott Fire Department (PFD).
The parade begins at 7:00 pm from South Grenville District High School (SGDHS), and proceeds south on Edward St. to King St., then turns west through downtown and finishes up at St. Lawrence Street.
This year’s parade marshal is Paddy Lawless.
There is no cost or pre-registration for floats to enter. Floats are encouraged to show up at South Grenville DHS starting at 6:00 pm.
This year, there could be close to 100 entries, including six bands, entries from different emergency service departments and more.

As well, members of the Prescott Fire Department will be collecting monetary donations to support the Spirit of Giving campaign throughout the parade route, and looking to surpass last year’s total of $2500.
“The streets are traditionally shoulder to shoulder and many deep as they await the arrival of Santa, with an estimate of over 10K lining the route last year, so let’s hope for great weather and fill the town with Christmas spirit,” said the Prescott Fire Department.
“The PFD is extremely excited to kick off the Christmas season and is busy preparing and looking forward to seeing lots of smiles and Christmas spirit as we welcome Santa to the Fort Town!” – Said the Prescott Fire Department. “The PFD is extremely excited to kick off the Christmas season and is busy preparing and looking forward to seeing lots of smiles and Christmas spirit as we welcome Santa to the Fort Town!”
