Brockville — BGC South East (Boys and Girls Club) is pleased to announce the launch of a new Education Centre in Brockville, expanding access to high-quality learning opportunities for families across the Leeds and Grenville community.
Beginning this winter, BGC South East will offer a series of after-school STEM, Robotics, and Literacy programs for children aged 4 to 11. Programs will run from February through March at the BGC Brockville Education Centre, located at the St. Lawrence College Brockville campus.
Designed to complement classroom learning, the programs focus on building essential skills through engaging, hands-on experiences. Key areas of learning include:
● STEM exploration through robotics, coding, and 3D design
● Problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking
● Early literacy development integrated with play-based learning for younger children
Programs are grouped by age, Kinder, Primary, and Junior, and are led by experienced educators using interactive tools such as robotics kits, design software, and structured literacy activities.
“Growing up in Brockville inspired my love of learning. After completing my education and training as a teacher, I am excited to give back to this community by offering engaging, hands-on programs for local children,” says Sarah Utting, Education Manager at BGC South East.
To introduce families to the new space and programming, BGC South East will host an Open House on Tuesday, January 27, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Families are invited to tour the Education Centre, explore the technology, learn more about the programs, and meet instructors and staff.
Registration for the winter programs is now open. Families can learn more and sign up online at: https://bgcka.recdesk.com/Community/Program?category=26
BGC South East is committed to supporting children and families by providing accessible, enriching programs that extend learning beyond the classroom and helping young learners build confidence, curiosity, and life-long skills.
