Vankleek Hill – The Westport Rideaus won game 1, 5-2 over the Vankleek Hill Cougars on Friday night in their NCJHL playoff final series in Vankleek Hill.
There was no scoring in the first period.
In the second period, Westport’s Braden Belot scored the first goal at 13:57. Then Vankleek Hill’s Cody “A” Horner (Bradley Horner) and Rylan Wolowicz (Ethan Butler, Reid Cunning) each scored a goal for the Cougars to take the lead at 2-1. Chad Carroll (Ethan Fowler) would tie the game up at the end of the second with his goal at 3:44.
In the third in was all Westport, with three additional goals by Ethan Fowler (Robert Onion, Noah Cyr), Ben Peladeau (Robert Onion, Ethan Fowler) and Robert Onion (Jack Storie) to win the game, 5-2.
Game two goes tonight, (Sunday, March 29th) in Westport. The puck drops at 7:30 pm at the WTC Centre.
