Gananoque – police reports from the Gananoque Police Service from February 25th to March 27th, 2026

Assault:

On June 1st, 2025, officers responded to a report of an assault. It was determined that a 43-year-old person from Caledonia attended the residence and became irate, punching the homeowner multiple times before fleeing.

An arrest warrant was issued and on February 25th, 2026, the accused was arrested by Niagara Regional Police Service. They were released on an undertaking with conditions, to be seen in court at a later date.

Uttering threats:

On March 21st, 2026, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of a person threatening to hurt another person after becoming upset at ongoing excessive noise.

A 44-year-old person from Montreal was arrested and charged with Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm. They were released shortly after on an appearance notice, to be seen in court at a later date.

Uttering threats/ Fail to Comply:

On March 26th, 2026, officers attended a residence while assisting another service and were approached by occupants reporting a recent incident of threats.

Further investigation resulted in a 48year-old person from Kingston being arrested and charged with Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm, Fail to comply with probation order x3, Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, Possession of a schedule I substance- cocaine, Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine.

They were held in custody for a show cause bail hearing.

Obstructing Police/Possession/Trafficking:

On March 27th, 2026, officers on patrol conducted a traffic stop where the driver of the vehicle provided a fraudulent driver’s license and false name. Officers soon identified the driver and passenger who were placed under arrest and a search of the vehicle located drugs and drug paraphernalia.

As a result, a 53-year-old person from Kingston was charged with Obstruct peace officer, Use, deals, acts on forged document, Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking and a 43-year-old person from Kingston was charge with Possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking. They were released on an undertaking with conditions.
