Brockville – The 18th Annual 1000 Islands Regatta & Festival was held June 26th to 28th along the shores of the St. Lawrence River.

It featured three nights of live music and two days of great boat racing. The weather was also great this year for the races, with not many delays.

Novice Class

Defending Novice Class champion Méderyk Guillet once again proved his dominance by capturing the final. He finished ahead of Olivier Maisonneuve in the N-109 L’Angle d’attaque and Zack Parent in the N-80 Wild Thing.

Formula R Class

Renaud Simard, driving the R-817 Formax Racing, continued his winning streak in 2026 by claiming another victory at the 1000 Islands Regatta. The win also marked a repeat of his 2025 success, when he earned his first-ever Formula R final victory in Brockville. Lucas Desrochers finished second in the R-104 D-Rock Racing, while Jean-Pierre Guillet claimed third aboard the R-86 Thunderstruck, earning the first podium finish of his career.

Formula F Class

The Formula F final was an eventful one, with five of the eight boats jumping the start. Eddie Kanfoush nevertheless claimed the victory to complete a perfect weekend. Kyle Hayes, driving the F-35 TMSpecial, finished second, while John Shaw, aboard the F-92 Tenacity, rounded out the podium.

Hydro 350 Class

Nicolas Rousse also enjoyed a flawless weekend, winning all three qualifying heats as well as the final. He was also awarded the Mathieu Daoust Trophy, presented to the driver who distinguished himself the most throughout the weekend. Tommy Shannon, driving the H-306 Dognasty, finished second, while Jacob Haineault, aboard the H-2 Novo Racing, completed the podium.

Pro Hydro Class

Guillaume Charette, driving the V-77 Essence I, and Éric Labelle, at the helm of the V-19 Do It, delivered one of the most exciting races of the weekend in the Pro Hydro final. Charette ultimately prevailed, edging out his rival by a fraction of a second. Dominic Maisonneuve, driving the V-109 Formax, completed the podium.

Grand Prix Class

Brandon Kennedy enjoyed a flawless weekend aboard the GP-35 TMSpecial, winning every qualifying heat he entered as well as the final. He was joined on the podium by Andrew Tate in the GP-71 The Wild One and Éric Langevin in the GP-212 Sylco.

Next Stop: Valleyfield Regatta – July 10, 11 and 12

The HRL season continues on July 10, 11 and 12 in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, where all six classes will return to the water for another action-packed weekend of hydroplane racing.
