Brockville – The Brockville Police Service (BPS) YIPI (Youth in Policing Initiative) students were out in the community on Wednesday as part of the BPS Lock It or Lose It campaign.
Police say thefts from vehicles continue to occur throughout our community, and in many cases, the vehicles involved were left unlocked or had valuables visible inside. A few seconds can make all the difference say police.
Before you walk away from your vehicle, remember to:
- Lock your doors
- Remove or hide valuables
- Close all windows
- Take your keys and key fobs with you
The YIPI students may have left a friendly reminder on your vehicle on Wednesday as part of this educational campaign. Their goal is to help reduce thefts from vehicles and encourage simple crime prevention habits that make our community safer.
“Together, we can make a difference. Partners for a Safer Community,” said police.
