Grenville Cty. – Weekly police reports from the Grenville County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) from May 29 to June 4, 2023.
Prescott – On June 3, 2023, at around 7:30 p.m., Grenville County Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious person exposing himself on Edward Street, Prescott. The male was located by officers and the investigation resulted in the male being arrested.
A 66-year-old man from Prescott was charged under the Criminal Code (CC) with;
Indecent act-public place – CC
Resist peace officer – CC
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Brockville Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
Augusta Twsp. – On June 4, 2023, shortly before 8:00 a.m., Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check stop on Dixon Road in Augusta Township. A vehicle approached officers and after a brief investigation, the driver was arrested and was taken to Prescott OPP detachment for further testing.
A 21-year-old man from Chesterville was charged under the Criminal Code (CC) with;
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) – CC
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Brockville Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
North Grenville – On June 4, 2023, shortly after 5:30 p.m., Grenville County OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint. Officers located the vehicle on Highway 416, North Grenville and as a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested.
A 27-year-old man from Richmond was charged under the Criminal Code (CC) with;
Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs – CC
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) – CC
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Brockville Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
