Brockville – As of today, (Monday, August 14th) you will no longer see our news articles, postings, etc. on the Hometown TV12 Facebook page.
We join a number of local and national media outlets that have been blocked by Meta (Facebook, Instagram) from posting any news on our Facebook pages, including Brockville’s MOVE & Bounce Radio, Your-TV Brockville, and the Recorder & Times.
This was Meta’s response to Canada’s new Online News Act, people in Canada will no longer view or share news on Facebook and Instagram, including news content posted by news outlets. In addition, people in Canada will no longer see links or content from any news outlet Pages or Accounts.
As of Monday at 3:00 pm, our Instagram account is still active.
