
Kemptville – The Kemptville 73s lead their CCHL Quarter-Final 4 Series with the Navan Grads two games to zero.
Kemptville 4 – Navan 3 in OT:
The Kemptville 73’s secured a 4–3 overtime victory over the Navan Grads to take a 1-0 series lead on Thursday night at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.
Voisey opened the scoring from D’Arienzo in the first period. Navan responded in the second with goals from Lindsay, assisted by Paris and Kaufman, and D’Urso from Knight and Robertson.
Lindsay added another in the third from Paris to extend the Grads lead. McDougall answered on the power play from Sweetapple and Venance, and Venance tied the game late from Ouellette and Hennessy.
Just 16 seconds into overtime, Achim netted the game winner from Venance.
Donovan made 20 saves on 23 shots, while Flemming stopped 37 of 41 shots.
Kemptville 6 – Navan 3:
The Kemptville 73’s broke open a tight contest with a dominant third period, defeating the Navan Grads 6–3 on Saturday at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.
After goals from Kaufman and Mbarushimana set the tone early, the teams traded chances through a back-and-forth second frame, with Mullins and Kulas answering Navan strikes from Knight and Paris to leave it 3–3.
The 73’s took over from there, as Kulas added his second on the power play before Ouellette and Voisey sealed it.
Donovan turned aside 13 shots for the win, while Flemming made 37 saves in a busy performance for Navan.
Game three is being held this afternoon, (Sunday, March 22) srating at 3:30 pm in Navan.
