Series Tied at 1-1!

Vankleek Hill – The Westport Rideaus lost a 5-3 decision to the Vankleek Hill Cougars in game 2 of their NCJHL final best of seven series in Vankleek Hill on Sunday.
The series is now tied 1-1.
Robert Onion (Thomas McLean, Ben Peladeau) scored the first goal for Westport in the first period. Vankleek Hill would respond with their first goal from Liam Lynn (Alexandre Chenier, Jacob Crete) in the first to tie the game at 1-1 at the end of the period.
The Cougars would pick up two more in the second period on goals by Bradley Horner (Nolan Macmillan, Alexandre Chenier) and Liam Lynn, his second of the game (10 Bradley Horner, 19 Cody “A” Horner) to take the lead.
The Rideaus had one goal in the second from Lane Morency (Noah Cyr, Connor Jackson). Vankleek Hill was ahead 3-2 at the end of the period.
Westport picked up one more in the third period, but Vankleek Hill would pick up two more and gone on to win 5-3.
Game 3 is at the WTC Centre in Westport this Friday, April 3rd. The puck drops at 8:00 pm.
