Brockville – In June 2025, the Brockville Police Service entered into an investigation into suspected fraudulent financial activity involving the Brockville Public Library.
The concerns were initially identified in December 2024 and led to an internal review of the Library’s finances. As a result of that review, police assistance was requested.
The investigation determined that former Brockville Public Library CEO Geraldine Slark was involved in the inappropriate use of a corporate credit card. The card was used for personal expenditures totaling more than $21,000.
On March 30, 2026, Geraldine Slark was charged with fraud over $5,000 and breach of trust. She was released pending a future court appearance date.
