Braves Name Veteran Bench Boss Ryan Leonard as Head Coach and General Manager

Brockville – The Brockville Braves officially announce the hiring of Ryan Leonard as the organization’s new Head Coach and General Manager, ushering in a new era for the league’s oldest franchise.

A native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Leonard brings a wealth of experience behind the bench as he enters his 22nd season in junior hockey. Known for his tireless work ethic and unwavering commitment to player development, Leonard recently reached a significant milestone in his coaching career, surpassing 1,000 games as a Junior A Head Coach and General Manager this past February.

Throughout his career, Leonard has built a strong reputation for helping players advance to the next level, with many moving on to NCAA programs, U SPORTS hockey, and major junior opportunities. His dedication to both team success and individual growth has made him a respected figure across the junior hockey landscape.

Leonard expressed both excitement and determination as he steps into his new role with Brockville.

“I am thrilled to be leading a flagship franchise with a rich history in JR A hockey, I will dedicate myself to reestablishing a strong brand of hockey that will excite our fans every night. There is a significant amount of work to be done, and it will require community support to achieve our goals. One thing I can assure is my commitment to the community and the Braves organization. I am looking forward to this new challenge and opportunity.”
