
Brockville – The City of Brockville has been recognized as a recipient of the 2025 Leader in Sustainability Award from Call2Recycle Canada, the country’s leading battery collection and recycling organization.
This national award recognizes organizations demonstrating leadership in responsible battery recycling.
This recognition reflects the ongoing efforts of Brockville residents who continue to recycle responsibly and support local environmental initiatives.
“2025 was a milestone year for the Recycle Your Batteries, Canada! program, driven largely by the continued leadership and collaboration of partners like Brockville across the country,” said Joe Zenobio, President and CEO at Call2Recycle Canada. “Organizations like Brockville play a critical role in strengthening Canada’s battery recycling system. We are pleased to recognize their commitment to sustainability and their efforts to advance Canada’s circular economy.”
“Improving waste reduction and recycling is an important part of enhancing Brockville’s environmental sustainability,” said Mayor Matt Wren. “We’re pleased to see our collaboration with Call2Recycle delivering positive results for our community.”
Brockville’s Battery Recycling Program
Since 2022, the City of Brockville has partnered with Call2Recycle to collect used batteries. In 2024, the program expanded with smart battery drop-off containers at municipal sites, making recycling safer and more convenient for residents.
