Forthton – A new adventure lies in front of the Kim and Dan Dawdy owned team and their driver Bobby Herrington for the 2026 season as they begin their first full time season in the DIRTCar 358 Modified division at the Brockville Ontario Speedway.

It was announced just before the Fall Nationals, that the Kim and Dan Dawdy Racing Team would partner with the Polite Sand and Gravel team, to bring Herrington back in the DIRTcar 358 Modified ranks. The team performed well during their debut, qualifying for both the Super DIRTcar Series Big Block event Friday night and the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series finale Saturday night.

The team plans to focus their full time efforts at the Brockville Ontario Speedway on Saturday nights with the possibility of some special shows across the region much like they have done with their Sportsman efforts over the least five years.

Herrington is no stranger to the DIRTCar 358 Modified division with 12 career wins in the division across four tracks in the United States and Canada. 9 of his 12 Modified wins have come at the Brockville Ontario Speedway, with the last one coming in 2017, when he won the season finale on September 2nd.

The team has had their car out for a pair of shake down sessions at the Brighton Speedway and Brockville Ontario Speedway this past Saturday afternoon and Bobby looked right at home behind the wheel. With drivers such as defending track champion Tristan Draper, Kalen Draper, Johnathon Ferguson, veteran Kyle Dingwall and 2022 track champion Chris Raabe into the mix, the Dawdy Racing Team and Bobby Herrington will have plenty of competition to deal with on a weekly basis.

The first race of the regular season for the team will be the opening round of the Ogilvie’s Triple Crown Series for the DIRTCar 358 Modifieds. Herrington will look to make history as the only driver to win features in both the Sportsman and 358 Modified series. Herrington has 15 total Ogilvie’s 358 Series starts with 7 top 5s and 13 top 10 finishes, including a 2nd place run to Lee Gill in the first ever series race held on June 8th of 2013.

The team looks forward to this season and the challenges that they will have but if they can put together the same performances they had the last few years, they could make several trips to victory lane and possibly challenge for that coveted track championship.
