Second Fatality Confirmed from Fatal 3-Vehicle Collision in Lombardy on Friday

Rideau Lakes – A six-year-old child has died following a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 15.

On Friday, May 29, 2026, at approximately 5:00 p.m., members of the Leeds County Detachment of the OPP responded to a report of a head-on collision involving two cars and an ambulance near Otter Lake Park. The ambulance was returning to base and had no patients onboard.

The driver of one of the vehicles, a 34-year-old male from Elizabethtown-Kitley, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A six-year-old male passenger from the same vehicle was transported to hospital by Ornge air ambulance with life-threatening injuries and has since died.

The driver and passenger of the ambulance were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the third vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital.
