
Spencerville — Sports, stories, and a little local beer will come together at the Spencerville Mill & Museum on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, for the next event in the Mill’s History Talks series.
The evening will feature historian Matthew J. Bellamy and his presentation, “Cool, Cocky, and Unforgettable: The History of Sport in the 1970s.” The talk will explore a memorable decade in sport, from unforgettable athletes to iconic moments in baseball, hockey, golf, tennis, and more.
The event is designed to bring back memories, spark conversation, and celebrate the role sport has played in popular culture and community life. Guests are invited to enjoy an evening of lively storytelling, local history, and shared memories as they kick off their Canada Day celebrations at the Mill.
In addition to the presentation, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy beer tasting flights from Joe’s Spencerville Brewing Company. The tasting will offer a local flavour pairing for an evening focused on sports history and community connection.
The event will take place on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the Spencerville Mill & Museum. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the talk beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Admission is by suggested donation at the door. Beer tasting flights will be available for an additional fee for guests 19+.
