
Lombardy – Charges have been laid by Leeds County OPP after an impaired-driving investigation near Lombardy on Highway 15 south of Smiths Falls.
OPP say that an officer conducting routine patrol observed a vehicle swerving shortly before 8:00pm on Friday, June 19. The officer conducted a traffic stop, after which the driver was taken to the detachment for further testing.
Police say Daniell Kendrick, 48, of Smiths Falls was charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired with a blood-alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit, two counts of assault with intent to resist arrest and driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available.
The driver was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Brockville before the Ontario Court of Justice on Tuesday, July 31.
