VIDEO – Despite Windy Weather, 5 Planes Flew-In for Annual Brockville Flying Club’s Fly-in Breakfast on Sunday

Tincap – The annual Old Fashion Fly-In Breakfast held on Sunday at the 1000 Islands Regional Tackaberry Airport had only five planes fly in for the event due to the weather/high winds.

The event is hosted by the Brockville Flying Club and the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA) Flight 111

Last year it was the rain which saw no planes fly in. This year the club says that 130 breakfasts were served.

Also, Kouri’s Kopters had a helicopter giving rides for $60 during the event and David Moore had his 1946 Piper Club on display, but due to the winds could not fly it.

Moore gave a tour of the plane to Brockville Mayor, Matt Wren, Mayor Brant Burrow of Elizabethtown-Kitley, Mayor Tory Deschamps of Edwardsburgh-Cardinal and Brockville City Councilor Cameron Wales. Mayor Wren even had a chance to go for a ride in the Cub back to the hangar.

The Elizabethtown-Kitley Fire Department was also on hand with a display.

Funds raised from the event will go to the local 870 Vampire, Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron and the ongoing Sabre Jet restoration project on Blockhouse Island.
