Brockville – The Brockville Police Service is advising residents of an increase in graffiti incidents reported throughout the community. Suspects have targeted public property, private buildings, parks, and other shared spaces.
Graffiti negatively affects residents by diminishing the appearance of neighbourhoods and creating frustration for property owners who must deal with unwanted damage. It can also contribute to a reduced sense of safety and pride within the community.
In addition, graffiti places a burden on City of Brockville staff who are required to spend significant time and resources cleaning affected areas.
These efforts divert city workers from other essential maintenance and services.
The Brockville Police Service asks residents to remain vigilant and report graffiti or suspicious activity. If anyone notices new graffiti in the vicinity of any security or doorbell cameras, please review your footage.
Anyone with information regarding graffiti incidents is asked to contact the Brockville Police Service at 613-342-0127 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
Residents or businesses that have been a victim of graffiti are encouraged to report the incident online through our website at www.brockvillepolice.com and include photographs of the damage.
This reporting option helps save time for the residents, while also assisting our dispatchers in receiving and processing this information more efficiently.
