
Brockville – On May 11, 2026, at approximately 2:15pm, police received information of a 56-year-old, male, who was operating a vehicle and suspected to be impaired.
Information was that the subject was leaving one location to attend a business on Stewart Boulevard. The caller had concerns for the driver’s state.
Officers located the subject at the business on Stewart Boulevard that was described. It was confirmed that the driver was showing signs of impairment by drugs. The officer demanded that the driver perform a Standard Field Sobriety Test, which he performed poorly.
The driver was arrested and taken to the Brockville Police Service for examination by a Drug Recognition Expert. That test confirmed that the driver was impaired by drugs.
The driver had their vehicle impounded, driver’s licence suspended, and was charged with operation while impaired. They were released with conditions and a future court date.
