
Brockville – The City of Brockville will mark Canada Day on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, with a parade, ceremony, and fireworks display. Here is what residents and visitors need to know about road closures, parking, and changes to city services for the holiday.
What’s Closed:
Municipal administrative offices will be closed on Wednesday, July 1 including:
- City Hall (1 King Street West)
- Gord Watts Municipal Centre (251 North Augusta Road)
- Wastewater Treatment Centre (1807 County Road 2 East)
- Water Filtration Plant (20 Rivers Avenue)
The following city services and facilities will also be closed on Wednesday, July 1:
- Waste Collection: No collection on Wednesday, July 1st, 2026. Collection will be on the following day of your regular pickup. Please put out your items one day after your usual collection day for the remainder of the week. Download the 2026 Waste Collection Calendar.
- Compost Site, Gord Watts Municipal Centre, 251 North Augusta Road
- City Transit: No service
- Brockville Arts Centre, 235 King Street West
- Brockville Public Library, 23 Buell Street
What’s Open:
The Brockville Tourism Visitor Information Centre, 16 Market Street East, and the Brockville Museum, 5 Henry Street, will be open on Canada Day from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Look for our Tourism Students out and about around the celebration.
Road Closures:
- Market Street West and Water Street West will close to traffic from 11:00 a.m. to noon to make way for the Canada Day parade route to Hardy Park.
- Blockhouse Island Parkway will be closed for the day to vehicle traffic to accommodate the fireworks display. Pedestrians are welcome to walk and explore Blockhouse Island on foot.
- The Water St. parking lot will still be accessible.
