Brockville – The City of Brockville is closely monitoring the forecasted heavy rains in our region. The City and its partners are working to keep you safe during this weather event.

Stay Safe Around Water Bodies

Cataraqui Conservation has issued a Watershed Conditions Statement here – Water Safety due to heavy rainfall expected August 8 through August 9, 2024. They urge caution, particularly around all dams (inflow and outflow channels), fast-flowing watercourses and stormwater ponds. Sign up to receive alerts from Cataraqui Conservation, including flood notifications at the base of this page.

Protect Your Property

Ensure that gutters and drains are clear to prevent blockages. Move valuables and important documents to higher ground if flooding is a concern. Visit our website for information about what to do if your basement floods.

Travel Safely

Avoid driving during heavy downpours. If you must drive, use caution as visibility will be reduced. Transit updates are posted to here through this Facebook link.

Be Prepared

Widespread flooding or other extreme weather events are not forecasted for our region, however, it’s always a good idea to have your emergency kit ready. See what to include in your kit and be ready to self-sustain you, your family and pets for at least 72 hours in case of an emergency.
