Cumberland – The Westport Rideaus won 4-3 in overtime over the Cumberland Castors on Sunday in NCJHL action in Cumberland.
At 4:33 in overtime, Westport’s Chad Carroll scored the game-winning goal for the Rideaus, beating Cumberland 4-3.
The Rideaus Matthew Ullmann scored first in the first period. Then Cumberland would score two goals in the first period to take a 2-1 lead at the end of the period.
In the second period, the Castors would score another one to make it 3-1 Cumberland. Thomas McLean with help from Chad Carroll and Ben Péladeau would score for the Westport at 6:11 on the powerplay to make it 3-2 Cumberland at the end of the second.
The game tied at 3-3 on a goal by Brock Seed (Eric Judson, Evan Rice) in the third period and was sent to overtime where Chad Carroll scored the game-winning goal for the Rideaus, beating Cumberland 4-3.
Westport travels to Vankleek Hill Saturday night to play the Cougars. Game time is 7:30 pm.
