Aeros Won 5-4 Over Winchester in Overtime on Sunday

Athens – The Athens Aeros won 5-4 over the Winchester Hawks in overtime on Sunday in EOJHL action at Centre 76.

Winchester got on the board first with two goals in the first period.

In the second period, the Hawks scored two more, followed by Athens’ scoring four goals from Dixie 2 (Palmer), Curson 27 (Viau, Taylor), Palmer 21 (Curson, Viau) and Tornberg 2 (Dulmage, Palmer) to tie the game at 4-4.

There was no scoring in the third period.

In overtime, Garritt Palmer scored the game-winning goal for Athens at 5:00 in the period.

The Aeros travel to Embrun this Friday night to play the Panthers. Game time is 8:00 pm.
