Rockland – The Brockville Braves lost a 3-2 decision in overtime to the Rockland Nationals on Sunday in CCHL action in Rockland.
From a Jack to a King. From Despair to a Bogart Ring. (A little variation on Ned Miller’s lyrics).
Okay maybe not quite, but what a turnaround by the Braves from Friday night in Brockville to Sunday night in Rockland! You did us proud.
While a lot of folks were probably embroiled in the Trudeau-Ford-Trump debacle, Jason Clarke and his staff had the Braves concentrating on hockey, winning hockey. And they were close as they held the nationally ranked Nationals and their high-octane offence at bay for most of the game, only to lose in overtime.
The Braves have a huge 4-point game coming up Thursday, which may go a long way in determining playoff positions and hopes.
My usual video resource is on the blink so I had to resort to a quick’n’dirty method of generating these highlights. Thanks, Hudl.
The Braves are in Smiths Falls tonight to play the Bears. Game time is 8:00 pm. Then on Friday, they will host the Kemptville 73s starting at 7:30 pm at the Memorial Centre.
