
Brockville – A Winter Storm Warning continues for Kemptville, Merrickville, Charleston Lake & Westport due to a highly impactful winter storm this evening into Thursday.
Snow, at times heavy, will begin this evening. Total amounts of up to 30 cm are likely. This winter storm will impact the Thursday morning commute. Snow will gradually taper off on Thursday afternoon.
The heaviest snow is expected to fall tonight into Thursday morning. Total snowfall amounts of 20 to 30 cm. Peak snowfall rates possibly exceed 5 cm per hour. Poor visibility in heavy snow.
Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult in some locations. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.
Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight. For information on emergency plans and kits go to getprepared.gc.ca.
