Elizabethtown-Kitley Announces Hiring Rob Nolan as New Administrator (CAO)/Clerk

New Dublin – The Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley announced on Thursday the hiring of Robert (Rob) Nolan as the new CAO/Clerk, effective Monday, November 4, 2024.

In a news release issued today, it said, Rob will be coming to Elizabethtown-Kitley from the City of Brockville where he has served as the Director of Economic & Development Services since 2017.

Before joining the city, he held various leadership and program management roles with the Regional Municipality of Durham, the City of Toronto and within the private sector.

Rob is a 20+ year public servant having held a wide range of leadership roles in local and regional government in both Canada and the UK; as well as having had experience in the private sector. His background includes economic development and government relations, community and business engagement, investment attraction and strategic planning. He holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies and Master of Applied Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo, a Master of Business Administration from Kingston University, UK and a Certified Economic Developer designation from the Economic Developers Association of Canada.

Rob expresses his enthusiasm for the new role. Nolan states, “I am truly honoured and excited to take on this role. In Elizabethtown-Kitley, I see a forward-thinking and progressive Council backed by a dedicated and professional team. I am eager to contribute my experience and leadership to drive positive change in our township.”

Under Leslie’s leadership, there has been great progress and significant achievements made, and I know I have big shoes to fill. There is still more to accomplish, and I look forward to collaborating with our team to make Elizabethtown-Kitley the envy of the region.

Mayor Brant Burrow welcomes Rob to the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley. Burrow states, “On behalf of Council, staff and the community, I would like to welcome Rob to our Township. Rob’s experience, calm, cooperative and collaborative leadership style and enthusiastic perspective will most definitely make a positive impact, not only to the Corporation but to the Township as a whole. His familiarity with the Township combined with his appreciation for the rural character and desire to continue with a focus on efficiencies and customer service excellence will be a true asset. We have some exciting and opportunistic times ahead of us, and we are happy Rob will be part of those times.”

The role of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)/Clerk is to provide essential support, and strategic and legislative leadership for the Township and act as the direct liaison between the council and staff.
