Brockville – In its first meeting of the new year, the Brockville City Council will meet three times this week to discuss the 2025 city budget.
They will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14th, Wednesday, January 15th, and Thursday, January 16th, at City Hall.
“We’ll be hard at work this week on the City’s 2025 Budget. Council will meet on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 5:30 as the annual budget is tabled. Fortunately, we’re starting from a far better position this year than the past two challenging years.” said Mayor Matt Wren in a Facebook post on Monday.
Tuesday’s meeting will hear the Operating Budget, Wednesday is the Community Partners Budget and Thursday will be the Capital Budget.
All the meetings are open to the public and live-streamed and reports will be uploaded to the City’s budget webpage at https://brockville.com/local-government/finance/budget/
“The budget being tabled maintains current service levels and aims to strike a balance around maintaining and improving the city’s aging infrastructure. Council will need to be vigilant about any increase in spending for new asks to avoid additional tax increases.” continued thttps://brockville.civicweb.net/Portal/MeetingTypeList.aspx#he Mayor.
