
Kemptville – The Carleton Place Canadians built an early lead and held off a late push to defeat the Kemptville 73’s 4–3 Sunday at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.
Joe Devlin opened the scoring in the first period, and Perrier added another as Carleton Place jumped out to a 2–0 advantage before Hennessy replied for Kemptville to cut the deficit to one after the opening frame.
Landriault extended the Canadians’ lead in the second period, restoring a two-goal cushion heading into the third.
Conrad struck early in the final period to make it 4–1. Kemptville answered with goals from Mbarushimana and a late power-play marker from Hennessy, but the comeback fell short.
Kemptville edged Carleton Place 28–26 in shots. Conway earned the win with 25 saves on 28 shots, while Carswell stopped 22 of 26 shots in defeat.
The 73s will host the Hawkesbury Hawks this Friday night at the North Grenville Municiple Centre in Kemptville. The puck drops at 7:30 pm.
